Launch the short-video generator

Write a prompt describing a short vertical scene, then generate a clip. The GPU starts on demand — the first launch can take up to a minute, then it's faster.

Generation is powered by an embedded open model (MiniMax-H3) hosted on Hugging Face. Your prompts go straight to the engine. Don't enter personal or sensitive details — you're responsible for what you create.

Guide

How to make short clips that actually hook

Write for vertical from the first word. Short-form is a portrait world, so tell the model the framing directly — "vertical 9:16 composition, subject centred, headroom and footroom, portrait orientation". If the generator panel offers an aspect-ratio option, choose the vertical one as well. Naming the framing nudges the layout even when you can't change the resolution outright.

Hook in the first second. People swipe in about a second and a half, so front-load the interest: open mid-action rather than in setup, favour movement toward the camera over away from it, use high-contrast colours to pull the eye, and skip wide establishing shots — go medium or close.

Plan for length by stitching clips. Open-source video models produce short, single-shot outputs, so for a 15–30 second post you generate three to five clips and cut them together. Keep it coherent: use the same subject from different angles ("front view", "side view", "low angle"), keep your lighting and colour words identical across prompts, and match the energy from clip to clip. That's not a flaw of this tool — it's where free, open video models are right now.

FAQ

Common questions

Is the short video maker free? +

Yes — free with no account, supported by ads on the page. It runs on shared GPU infrastructure, so it can queue at busy times.

How long are the clips? +

They're short, single-shot clips. For a full Reel or TikTok, generate several clips and stitch them together in any editor.

How do I make it vertical? +

Describe the vertical framing in your prompt ("vertical 9:16, subject centred") and pick a vertical aspect ratio in the generator panel if the option is shown.

Why does the first render take a while? +

The model runs on a GPU that starts on demand. The first launch can take up to a minute while it warms up; later clips are faster.
